IELTS speaking part 1 (Introductory questions) : Clothes and Fashion (topic – 16) – IELTS 7 band speaking – dynamic IELTS
1. Are you very interested in fashion and clothes?
Personally, I have a lot to say about fashion as fashion is a way for me to express my creativity and
personality. I find it fascinating and love experimenting with different styles, colors, and textures to create unique outfits. It’s not just about looking good, but feeling confident and comfortable in my own
skin. Fashion is a form of non-verbal communication that allows me to showcase my individuality.
2. Do you have a lot of nice clothes?
I don’t have a lot of clothes, but the ones I have are comfortable and elegant. I prefer quality over quantity when it comes to my wardrobe. I believe that having a few versatile pieces that can be mixed and matched is more valuable than owning many pieces that only serve a single purpose. I tend to invest in classic and timeless clothing that can be worn for years without going out of style. This approach helps me to save money, reduce clutter, and make more sustainable choices in my life.
3. What kind(s) of clothes do you usually wear?
I usually wear tops and jeans, as they are comfortable, practical, and versatile. I prefer simple and minimalist designs that are easy to pair with different accessories and shoes. I enjoy experimenting with different cuts, washes, and fabrics to create various looks that suit my mood and the occasion. I also like to accessorize my outfits with scarves, hats, jewelry, and bags to add personality and flair.
4. Would you say clothes are expensive in your country?
Clothes are relatively affordable in my country, India. There is a wide range of options available, from street markets to luxury brands, catering to different budgets and tastes. The price of clothes varies depending on the brand, quality, and design. However, overall, clothes are relatively affordable, making fashion accessible to many people.
5. Do you like to wear fashionable clothes?
Fashionable clothes are not my top priority, but I do appreciate them when they fit my style and mood. I think fashion should be fun, expressive, and empowering, rather than a source of pressure or comparison. I believe in wearing what makes me feel good and confident, regardless of trends or expectations.
6. Is there anything that you used to wear in past that you don’t wear now?
Yes, there are some things I used to wear in the past that I don’t wear anymore, like capris pants. As I grew older and my style evolved, I found other clothing items that suit me better and feel more comfortable. I think personal style is a journey, and it changes over time, influenced by many factors like age, body shape, lifestyle, and culture.
7. How often do you go for shopping for clothes?
I don’t go shopping for clothes regularly, but I do it once in a season, randomly. I like to plan my shopping trips in advance and make a list of the things I need or want to buy. I prefer to shop alone, so I can take my time, try on different clothes, and make informed decisions. I enjoy exploring different stores, both online and offline, and discovering new brands and styles.
8. Do you like shopping for clothes?
I enjoy shopping for clothes, but I don’t consider it a leisure activity. I view it as a practical and necessary task that requires some effort and planning. I like to make informed decisions, based on my needs, preferences, and budget, rather than impulse buying or following trends.
9. How often do you buy clothes online?
I buy clothes online occasionally, depending on my bank balance and the availability of online sales. Online shopping is convenient, time-saving, and often cheaper than offline shopping. I prefer to buy from reputable and trustworthy websites, which offer a wide range of sizes, colors, and styles, and have good customer service and return policies.
10. Do you plan to buy any designer (or, name brand) clothes?
Yes, someday I definitely want to own Versace clothing and add it to my wardrobe. I admire the brand’s elegance, sophistication, and innovative designs. As of now, the cost of the brand is beyond my budget, but I hope to afford it someday. It’s a dream of mine to have a collection of high-end designer brands, including Versace, as a symbol of my hard work and success.
