Some students take one year off between finishing high school and going to university, in order to travel or to work. Do you think the advantages outweigh the disadvantages?- IELTS 7 band essay – writing task 2 – dynamic IELTS
Introduction
Many high school graduates, today, indeed decide to begin their careers or go on holiday before enrolling in college. While taking a gap year can have some short- term disadvantages, I am certain that it will more likely have long-term advantages for their life.
Body paragraph 1
On the one hand, young students who postpone their university studies are likely to run into some challenges. One of these issues is the academic backlog brought on by taking a year off from school. For young individuals, it is understandably nearly impossible to enjoy their experiences working or traveling while also setting out a specific amount of time for studying. As a result, students who take a gap year could struggle to catch up with their peers and face the task of learning the material all over again in school. In addition, life away from the university campus could prove to be too much for inexperienced school dropouts, both mentally and physically. For instance, they might be in danger of being exploited in a rigorous job or encounter risks while traveling to a foreign country. Young high school graduates may have unanticipated effects if they are not well prepared for such potential challenges.
Body paragraph 2
On the other hand, I would contend that these benefits exceed these drawbacks. Students should make use of their gap year to learn about topics that are not included in university courses. These beginners can learn about the job and gain important practical skills from working with those who are experts in the pitch, which will help them grow as adults. Employers frequently give individuals with a lot of life and work experience a favorable review when they apply for a job. Also, having a year to unwind might be beneficial in terms of recreation because it gives students a chance to rest after a stressful semester of classes. In comparison to students who enroll in university right away, undergraduates can learn more effectively if they have a relaxed and open mindset.
Conclusion
In conclusion, despite some drawbacks, I believe that a gap year has more advantages than disadvantages for the aforementioned causes.
