In many situations, people who break the law should be warned instead of punished. To what extent do you agree or disagree? – Ielts 7 band essay – writing task 2 – dynamic IELTS
Introduction
Many incidents involving people who disregard the law have occurred in recent years. Nonetheless, some people believe that those who break the law should be cautioned, while others believe they should be punished instead of warned. I concur with the latter, yet there are additional factors to consider as well which will be discussed in this essay.
Body paragraph 1
There are certain advantages to notifying families who assist offenders. The possibility of having the chance to behave better is, by far, the most important one. Indeed, most people may not be aware of the proper conduct required by law, and as a result, they occasionally may violate it in certain ways. An amazing illustration of this is the tendency of some drivers to carelessly enter off-limits places because the rules forbid it; therefore, the drivers must be identified before they are required to pay the fee. Last but not least, another one is that most people can be duped by others into making wrong and detrimental decisions. This is because actual offenders are more likely to persuade innocent persons to do the crime. Nut, if they have received a civilization-based education, they are less likely to behave inappropriately.
Body paragraph 2
Despite the negatives in the preceding paragraph, I believe that there are many advantages to disciplining people through punishment who behave inappropriately. The first significant issue to be concerned about is maintaining social peace. Although it might be true that giving criminals a heads-up might have helped to lower crime. Nonetheless, it still seems possible that the punishment might dramatically lower the crime rate. As an example, the encouragement of good manners arises when the majority of crowds are receiving punishment because they are terrified of receiving it. In addition to society’s peace, laws’ reputation should also be taken into account. If some communities are allowed to violate the law, how should the law be respected? This could lead to a rise in the number of offenders.
Conclusion
To sum up, even if there are some benefits to warning offenders, in my opinion, the benefits of punishment outweigh the disadvantages. It is more likely that society would be delightful if everyone behaved legally.
