Introduction
Plastic carry bags have become a significant component of trash in most nations over the past few decades due to a huge rise in their use. Also, they seriously endanger the ecosystem. Hence, it is generally agreed that these items need to be banned legally. I fully agree with this viewpoint.
Body paragraph 1
Firstly, from grocery stores to shopping centres, plastic bags are utilized everywhere. Secondly, these bags are not properly disposed of, which results in the poisoning of the biodiversity of the land and water. Furthermore, these poly bags are non-biodegradable, thus they remain in the environment for a long amount of time and presents a significant risk to all the animals and fishes because they might feed on them. To demonstrate this, an American organization called 4Ocean did a survey and determined the risk to the marine ecosystem that, in 2050, there would be more plastic debris in the ocean than fish. As a result, the entire ecosystem suffers, which is dangerous for biodiversity.
Body paragraph 2
Plastic bags’ popularity stems from the fact that it is a versatile material. Despite being inexpensive, lightweight, and versatile for packaging different products, strong legislation banning these flexible materials is the only way to reduce the use of these carry bags. For instance, Singapore has not only outlawed plastic shopping bags but also compels residents to use jute or biodegradable bags as an alternative. They don’t contain any harmful substances, and their environment is sustainable.
Conclusion
In conclusion, plastic garbage is amassing all over the world and poses a serious threat to the flora and fauna. Authorities should, however, enact stringent regulations for the manufacture of these materials and encourage the use of alternative jute or biodegradable bags.
