Some people think the primary purpose of schools is to turnchildren into good citizens and workers, rather than to benefitthem as individuals. To what extent do you agree or disagreewith this opinion?
Introduction
While each person’s idea of a “benefit” and a “good citizen” is different, there is
no universal response to this topic. There are surely educators who think that the
main goal of education is to prepare students to be contributing members of
society, but there are other educators who think that the main goal of education
is to advance students personally.
From my perspective, the main goal of schools is to help pupils grow as individuals. Giving pupils the skills they need to pursue their own aspirations and ideal careers should be the aim of education.
Body paragraph -1
Students are better prepared to become responsible citizens and productive members of society when they are given the knowledge and skills they require to succeed in life. First and foremost, it is crucial to start preparing individuals for their future careers from a young age because doing so will enable them to live well and advance the economy of their nation. For instance, many schools now place more emphasis on career-oriented disciplines like computer programming, business studies, and journalism than they do on time-consuming extracurricular activities or sports that help develop students’ talents.
Body paragraph -2
Teaching correct civic behavior in schools is another top objective since it can lower crime and accidents and increase peace across the nation. For instance, there is a major lack of civic awareness among the populace in many developing nations, as evidenced by traffic law violations, public trash, and disregard for environmental damage. These traits can only be properly taught in schools, ensuring that students develop them from an early age. Schools may aid kids in developing their critical thinking and problem-solving skills by giving them the right knowledge. These abilities are crucial for success in any sector and can aid students in building positive interpersonal and communication skills.
Conclusion
In conclusion, while not every student will have the same professional aspirations, schools help students realize their full potential by equipping them with the knowledge and abilities necessary to succeed in any sector.
