Some people think visual images, such as photographs and videos, can most accurately inform people about a news story. Others believe they are not reliable sources of information. Discuss both views and give your own opinion. IELTS 7 band essay – 2023
Introduction
Today, a lot of news firms employ visual materials like photos and videos to convey information to their audience. Several individuals say that this is the best way to communicate knowledge, while others claim that it is not credible. Although it provides more information about the story, I consider it should first be confirmed before it is shared with the audience.
Body paragraph-1
There is no definitive response to this query because people’s opinions regarding whether visual representations of news articles may provide accurate information will differ according to their perspectives, education, and personal opinions. When compared to words, images convey more information. For instance, using
the crime scene as an example, vivid visual imagery can convey the crime that
was committed. In addition, particularly today, it is now simpler to determine if a
photo or video was staged or not thanks to technological advancements by learning how it was shot. So, it is obvious to conclude that they supply sufficient
information to learn more about a crime.
The photos, however, have the potential to exclude some details. As a result, they
can easily cause individuals to misunderstand or offer scant evidence, which is unquestionably insufficient. Therefore, it is crucial to have solid proof to determine whether or not a crime was committed. As a result, more compelling
evidence, such as a suspect’s DNA, need to be needed to prove a case.
Body paragraph -2
Before being shared with the public, visuals must be double-checked. Visual
pictures can now be used by careless persons to create fake news that is harmful to other people. For instance, there is a video showing one supporter fighting the police inside the stadium in Kanjuruhan Stadium in Malang movie, leading to the suspicion that many of the followers there are criminals. In actuality, they are victims rather than suspects. Because of police brutality, they act in that way. As a result, this film cannot be used as justification for judgment. Nonetheless, it is up to the person to decide if they think that visual materials, such as pictures and videos, can provide reliable information about news topics.
Conclusion
Yet, employing visual representations give the audience a chance to fully understand the news. But in my view, things ought to be examined before being aired to the general public.
