Recent advances in medical science have resulted in increased life expectancy over the past few years. Do you think the advantages outweigh the disadvantages? IELTS 7 band essay -2023
Introduction
Miracles have been made possible by modern healthcare research and medical
facilities. We have treatments for fatal illnesses, and scientists are using our
genetics to stop diseases from developing before we are even born. Hence, humans now live longer lives. I truly believe that there are much more benefits than drawbacks to living longer.
Body paragraph -1
There are several benefits to having a longer life expectancy. Individuals who are living past the age that was traditionally regarded as middle age can now enjoy their latter years with fewer worries. In addition, many illnesses and ailments that were once fatal are now sufficiently treatable to only claim a small number of lives. Individuals who have disabilities can now live longer thanks to advancements in medical care and surgery. Grandparents are the only remaining option for young children as the number of working parents’ increases. We benefit from older folks taking on the majority of our family responsibilities. In addition, those who we perceive as no longer contributing to society because of their advanced age have given us the modern world through their toil, sacrifice, and love.
Body paragraph -2
A lot of individuals believe that as life expectancies rise, the proportion of the elderly population rises and the working population declines. So, they see caring for the elderly as a financial burden on the nation. However, this viewpoint is flawed. People these days live longer and are more active, which help them giveback to society even as they get older.
Conclusion
In conclusion, a longer life has significant positive effects on both the family and
society. What they did for us as children, we should feel obligated to treat our
ancestors with respect. They are now a benefit to the nation rather than a
burden. Hence, the human race has benefited from this increased life expectancy.
