In today’s world, people spend a lot of money on appearance because they want to look younger.why does this happen ?do you think this is positive or negative development ? -IELTS 7 band essay – writing task 2
People waste a lot of money these days on maintaining their youthful appearance in the modern world. I assume that this is taking place due to the numerous advertisements and people’s innate desire to be appreciated for their beauty. I, therefore, believe it to be harmful to society’s well-being and self-confidence.
Body paragraph 1
Many people now frequently go to beauty salons to alter their outward looks in the ways that they desire. People can let themselves appear younger because of the quick advancement of technology. Many people aspire to seem young because it makes them feel stronger and wiser and is appealing in particular professions. This idea’s key supporting argument is that, in today’s competitive environment, where everyone strives to outperform one another, many people prioritize new techniques and items that give them youthful looks to draw in large numbers of people with their attractiveness and personality. For instance, a newspaper poll from 2018 revealed that 7 out of 10 people spend the majority of their income on such treatments to appear smaller than they did before.
Body paragraph 2
The long-term adverse effects of procedures used to improve physical appearances are this trend’s negative aspect. The negative effects of this trend include a potential decline in social health status. For instance, some people could purchase cosmetic items or undertake unneeded plastic surgery to fit in with the young-looking trend; this could have dangerous side effects like emphysema and skin conditions. Moreover, a lot of chemicals are employed during facial surgery. As a result, allergies may develop gradually in some people. If this illness worsens, he or she can potentially lose their natural appearance. This is a significant flaw. I believe that one should be secure in how one looks and should be conscious of the negative effects of trying to resemble others. One must embrace their unique self and the natural beauty gifted by the universe.
In conclusion, marketing and people’s need for attention are to be blamed for the young trend that harms people’s physical and emotional well-being.
